Three years ago I had one of my heart valves replaced, expecting a short recovery and then a better quality of life. Something went wrong and I ended up in a coma for seven weeks and almost three months in the hospital. Needless to say, when I finally came out of the coma there were many serious side effects. Among them were being diagnosed with diabetes, and neuropathy in my arms, hands, legs and feet. Specialists could not agree if the nerves would or would not regenerate. My kidney function was close to needing dialysis.

We spent time together on a Tuesday cooking and wanding. When I walked in to their home my hands were at a level 9 pain and as red as an apple and I could not make a complete fist. I am a 44 year old that recently had a total hip replacement on March 18, 2010 due to Osteoarthritis. I have suffered with pain since 2008 and had had two arthroscopy surgeries in 2009 only 9 months apart to only fail.
After my THR surgery I was partial weight bearing using a walker/ crutches for 4 weeks. I was able to move to full weight bearing as tolerated on week 5 with a crutch or cane. My pain level during those weeks would go from 5-8 on a scale from 1-10 after taking my pain meds it would drop to no less than 4. My cousin had told me she could help alleviate my pain with a wand and as skeptical as I am I had to see for myself the amazing things that have been happening with this new technology.
